This (very) unassuming lobster shack in Clinton, CT has been named one of the 5 Best Lobster Rolls on the Connecticut Shoreline:
If I was to write a movie about eating a lobster roll, this would be the perfect locale. Charming and quaint, Lobster Landing occupies a small space right on the dock of a marina. A white-bearded lobster man darts between the dining area and a small shack on the dock. He is a perfect character from a Eugene O Neil play.
The Shoreline Times Reader Poll named the Lobster Landings lobster roll the best in the area.
The menu at the weathered shack at 15 Commerce St. is simple and written on a white board: lobster roll, sausage, pepper and onion sandwich, hot dog, chips, soda and ice cream.
The main attraction of course is the lobster roll, described by local author Mike Urban in his book “Lobster Shacks,” (2012, Countryman Press) as “…chock full of buttery, fresh-picked meat…loading up the oversize bun until the lobster crowns out of the top.”
The lobster comes from local lobster boats, and is cooked and picked inside the shack
