Is he who he says he is?

Izzie Mallon is looking forward to celebrating Christmas on a relaxing yoga retreat. At least, that is what she's telling her mother and colleagues. In reality, she will be shutting herself away from the festive season, and the snowstorm that has brought the city to a standstill, in her apartment on Henrietta Square -- the beautiful home she shared with her beloved husband Sam until his tragic death a few months ago -- with only her grief for company.

Then, there's a knock at the door -- a stranger, stranded by the bad weather.

He tells Izzie that he's Eli Sanders, her husband's long-time friend. Izzie has never met him in person, but feels she owes it to Sam to welcome Eli into her home. Even though her instincts say that she should do otherwise...

As Izzie tries to reminisce with...

Photographing A Hundred Year Old Barn In Vermont

Ely, Vermont - Fine art photographer photographs an old wooden barn in Vermont. Imagine the day in 1899 when the builder of this beautiful old barn hammered in the last peg on the timber frame.

According to the great, great grandson Brian A. George "this barn was built by my great great grandfather but was mostly utilized by my great grandfather Gordon George who ran the farm until he died in 2007"

And there it still stands. Certainly not in mint condition but still standing after all these years. They overbuilt this old barns. Rather than using computers and engineering studies, they simply used really, really thick lumber just to make sure it could take the weight of livestock, hay and later iron farm equipment and tractors.

This fine art photograph of the old George Family Farm Barn from 1899 can be purchased as prints, canvas prints, framed and matted artwork and...

Why do farmers hang on to old, vintage, antique tractors and still use them on the farm? Because they last and they are easy to maintain.

The true beauty and lasting appeal of old tractors. They are incredibly simple, purely functional. They are easy to work on. You can reach just about any part with an ordinary socket wrench or screwdriver.

They might not have cup holders but they might come with their own toolbox for quick fixes in the field. No fussy computer to go out of date. No fancy fuel injectors to foul. Everything is made of solid thick steel or iron and they were built to last.

Here are ten of the best selling old tractor photographs and artwork from the Vintage Tractor Collection – https://edward-fielding.pixels.com/collections/vintage+tractors

A Little Courtesy Goes A Long Way

A Little Courtesy Goes A Long Way

Take only photographs, leave only footprints. If all photographers (hikers, fishermen, tourist etc) would only think of those who come after them, the world would be less hostile to visitors from away.

I recently spent $10 an hour photographing an old mining town in the Nevada desert and I was happy to pay for the privilege to photograph this well maintained private collection of cool old stuff.

Not only did the fee help keep this great place running for future photographers to visit but it gave the owners a chance to explain the rules as well as the dangers such as rattlesnakes and cactus. It also keep the crowds away for a pleasant time on the property.

Interview With Fine Art Photographer Edward M. Fielding

A new interview with fine art photographer Edward M. Fielding is now available on "Our Arts Magazine". Excerpt:

Who are your biggest influences?

I used to pour over photography monographs at the college library when I went to Boston University, so I have a lot of influences and inspirations – Diane Arbus, Mark Klett, Edward Ruscha, William Wegman, Walker Evans, Robert Frank, Irving Penn, Jan Groover, the Bernd and Hilla Becher

– I kind of parted ways with contemporary fine art photographers when the work started being more about composites than straight on photography.
